Might be a memory mgmt. problem
If Windows: Make sure you have enough cash available for Bridge and manually clear it if neccessary.
Also: remember that Bridge creates a cache with all thumbnails in the folders you use. Try to limit the amount of pics in each folder.
But... Why would you use Bridge when you have Lightroom? Maybe it's an alright workflow but I can't see any advantages. |

Sounds like bridge is causing some sort of kernel panic within the system. If it happens specifically every time you close bridge, more than likely it's a software issue.
Try rebooting, opening bridge, then without doing anything closing it again see if it reboots like that to let you narrow the problem down to Bridge in isolation. If that does it, try reinstalling Bridge, full uninstall, reinstall, not just installing over the top.
Check your event log to see if anything is getting written there that might indicate the problem. Check for software updates etc.
Hope that helps! |

i am self taught on this stuff, i use bridge to scroll thru the raw files to see which ones i want to work with, if there is a easier workflow i am certainly open to suggestions

Why not use Lightroom to scroll through your images. I use Lightroom a lot more lately than when I used to and PS is being used less. Never thought that would happen. But I always ask myself if I should use Bridge and frankly I'm wondering why Adobe are pushing both platforms. Is there one more suited to pros and the other for us hobbyists? I don't use Bridge because I fear it'll add yet another step to my post processing or just complicate things. I used to use it before Lightroom came out and liked it too but Lightroom, to me, is a Bridge to PS.
As to the OP, I never had that problem and hope you resolve it soon.

I always viewed bridge as a quick way of getting photos into photoshop for non-lightroom users.
For someone who has lightroom and photoshop, there should be no need to use bridge. |
