New computer with Windows 7, I̢۪m looking to optimize before loading CS3 ect.
Programs I use..
Media center will cover my video-DVD, TV, music and streaming .( unless something else plays DVD̢۪s like Planet Earth much better) no need to change.
I use Microsoft Works Word Processor for it̢۪s spell check (the only thing I use out of Microsoft Works). Currently use IE8 but will probably go to Chrome soon.
I don̢۪t play games..,
What of all the other crap can I delete (that won̢۪t screw with things)
What on the start up menu can I uncheck |

What else is in your startup group? If MS Works is in there, you could safely delete it to free up system resources. A lot of programs like to load quickstarters so that they open quicker, but they consume system resources. I prefer if it takes a few more moments to open when I use it, but not have a load of junk in ram the rest of the time.
If it is a store bought system with lots of trialware, try pcdecrapifier.

Uncheck everything in the startup menu. If you need it, it will run. |
