OK, I'm totally nervous about asking questions for fear of being blasted about asking something that has been asked before in a kazillion threads or simply being told to read the tutorial....because I've searched and can't find (yeah, I'm a little dense sometimes) BUT....
in order to enter the portrait side challenge does the image have to be on a web page somewhere already or can I upload from my computer (which is what I need to do because the image isn't on a page).
And how do I upload from my computer.
(It takes me awhile but hopefully, eventually, I will get it.)
Now, I await the blasting.

The folks that have stuff hosted here for side challenges have a portfolio that comes with a membership. If you fork over the whopping $25 a year (yep, a YEAR), you too can have portfolio space. Once you get that, then you just go to My Portfolio (under the My Home part of the menu) and upload away to your heart's content! Resize to 800 pixels on the long side for normal viewing. You can upload larger photos and people will have the option to click on "View Full Size" for those.
If you do not have a membership, then yes, your photo must be hosted somewhere else and you can provide a link. To link, see the pretty little icons at the top of the box when you're typing a message? The round circle world one is the way you can link to a web site address. |

I'll tell you what...this is the best class you can find, I've learned more on this site about photography and processing than any of my $180/8 wk classes that I've taken in the past. The $25 for this membership has been some of the best $$ I've spent on my photography hobby ever. People are very helpful and for the most part very generous with their time.
I thought that registered membership (not the paid) gave you a portfolio...sorry to have miss lead you earlier. But trust me...it's well worth the full membership. |

Thanks Ja-9 and Melethia! And Ja-9 not a problem on the mix-up :-)
I do plan to get a paid membership - probably be a couple more weeks before I can do it. But I do plan to.
So right now I'm bumming around my photobucket account again. I haven't used it in such a long time. But I gotta get started somehow! |
