Original idea by Tammster: //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=961343

Post up images that you'd submit to a recent challenge, but that was taken before or after the challenge. It'd probably be best if we kept it to completed challenges (not in the submission or voting phase). Whether you missed it and later took a great image, or you've had an image for years that would've fit the challenge perfectly, it doesn't matter. Bonus for following the editing rules.

Posting Etiquette: If you have multiple images for one challenge, please use a single post for all of them rather than multiple posts for the same challenge. Also, please use the "Thumbnail Link to Site Image" button for DPC Portfolio images, and the "Insert Image" button for off-site (hotlinked) images. Please keep hotlinked images to a reasonable size so as to not hog the whole thread, since they appear here at full size.

Commenters are encouraged to leave a score as well in their comments, so we get a sense of how well an image would've fared.

ETA Suggestion that we probably shouldn't be posting images that would fit a challenge currently in the submission or voting phase.

No "signups," just post here!

Thanks George!

I find that after a challenge, I am still subconsciously looking for whatever the challenge subject was. For example, after the contre-jour challenge I keep seeing perfect opportunties, things I never would have noticed before the challenge. I guess that's the point of these challenges... to keep us looking at the world in a different way than we did before.

I'm interested! Working on getting images on photobucket. :-)

Should we limit this to whatever is currently on the front page, for instance, today it would be FS, Umbrella, Bird Portrait, or Candid? Maybe that would help with keeping it from getting out of hand. Should FS's be here, as that would open the door for anything in our image files from any time period?

Well, I was gonna enter one that I would have put in signature style....but I took it before that challenge was posted....which means I will miss out on it again ;-) (But that'll be ok, I'll find another.)

although I am working on another to enter in signature style, so it's all good....hey is there a way to delete posts? I know I'm missing the delete button somewhere. :-/

Signature Style would be a current challenge, so it would not be appropriate to post images related to that one until voting is over for it.
The nearest to removing a post is to use the "edit" button and erase the text.

Missed Portrait of a Wild Bird by one day, finished 27/12/2009, took this 28/12/2009.

This is a regular event for me, either a day or two early, or late!

Shot this one during the Scott Kelby photowalk, just a couple of days before the username challenge was announced.

I was thinking we shouldn't post something that's still in voting. I wouldn't want current voters to be influenced by other shots. Any challenge in the last month or so should be appropriate (even before, I don't think it matters; but the more recent ones will be in everyone's memory)... and I think free studys wouldn't apply since we all have the opportunity to post any image as a FS shot that month.

I like the idea of this side challenge because it gives us a reason to process pictures we might not have played with too much.

I'm thinking this would've been a "5" in the Candid challenge (with a bit more processing and a better crop, of course):

I might have entered this in the Candid challenge but it would have only scored a low 5:

Portrait of a Wild Bird. This group portrait has a couple of pretty wild looking birds : )

Here's something I might have entered in an action shot challenge

I wanted to re-shoot my sister for the Umbrella challenge, but no dice :(

I really thought it would be interesting.

Here's the shot I played around with for the tilt shift challenge, which unfortunately was taken way before the challenge.

However, it was a lot of fun to play with this technique.

would have loved to enter this into the bug challenge...
