From 1st January here in Ireland, the new blasphemy law became operational. Blasphemy is now a crime punishable by a 25,000 euro fine.

Michael Nugent has taken the department of justice to task, and published a list of 25 blasphemous quotes, to test the law. (This has also been receiving an enormous amount of coverage on the news websites, including CNN.

So, without further ado.... Here a link to the illegal quotes.

Unfortunately, I am unable to actually post any of the quotes here, (although I particularly liked numbers 1 and 3) - As far as I can tell, I would be in violation of paragraph 5.3 in the DPC terms of use.

Sounds like a law that is extremely subject to abuse. If a group does not like something, they can just proclaim it to be blasphemy and hence illegal. I may read up further on this, there is bound to be another side to the story.
