I was wondering how many of you are actually Photographers by trade. How many of you make a living out of photography?

I make a living in videography, which has many of the same basic fundamentals. I honestly think it is much harder to tell a story with a still picture than it is with moving pictures + audio.

Photography income was more than my digital rebel cost + every print I've ever made. With adding stock recently to "things I do" (prints, weddings, etc) I am starting to think about it more. :)

Well I am a creative art director for a book publishing company and about a 2 years ago I really go into doing the photo shoots myself of clients, customers & artist we put into the books. I enjoy it alot, its fun and plus I get paid for it also enjoy and love the design part of it when we put it in the books.

I'm working as a photographer for the largest newspaper in Iceland. I also shoot advertisement and for all sorts of magazines.

i was going to work as a photographer. However, declined after a few photo shoots. I relized that I enjoy photography so much that I don't want to work in the field. Oxy-moron, I know. I just simply enjoy takening photos as a hobby and hate to spoil all this fun. Photos somewhat seem to me as a break from everyday life and it fills my off time away from work and relaxes me.

I will be a fulltime photographer once I graduate school in 2 years with my Photography Degree =)
