I have a friend who's husband passed away 2 years ago, she has discovered this equipment in one of her closets and I told her that I would try to help her sell some of these items. But before I can do that I need a good handle on what they are worth so I'm coming to you to ask for help and advice on this.

Some of this equipment is quite old, as I haven't used any of it I can not vouch for the condition, but I have a couple of other sources to have the equipment looked at before I would officially sell any of it. I have cked around on E-Bay and other equipment sources for some base lines on the prices...but I'm asking you for how much this is worth.

Cameras:

Nikon N90 Sold
Nikon EL2 Sold
Nikon Nikonos IV-A (might look into getting this certified???)

Vivitar 400mm f/5.6
TX Mount (adapter)
Mamiya 135mm f/4.5 Sold

Flash:

Vivitar 550
Nikon SB-26 Sold
Votron V-4615

Filters: SOLD

62mm UV
52mm UV-Tiffen

Misc:

Auto Winder Sold
Sekonic Marine Meter II L-164B 39-49
mono-pod
Gun-Pod (???) this is some kind of mount to put your camera on that is shaped like the butt end of a gun, I have no idea what it is...

all the lens work on my camera (Nikon D80) either auto/manual (meaning 3 of the lens are manual) so at least I know they will work on the digital cameras.

thanks for taking the time to help me out...

Do any of these camera's have a resale value? If so which ones? I think the top two don't have much resale but the bottom two seem like they would still be pretty high on the want list. Especially the Mamiya?

The Nikonos, with 35mm lens, is worth about 250-300 bucks, if it's in decent-to-fine condition. It's a very nice camera.

I don't know much about some of the equipment you listed. But there is a shop in Houston with very helpful staff and they are in the business of selling used gear. I would suggest sending them an e-mail asking them for a rough cost estimate.

I have bought a few new items there but they seem to have a fair selection of used gear also. The shop is called Houston Camera Exchange

you could always look on ebay too, just to see what the average general price of these things are going for?

You could also "google" each item and look for prices in used condition. I know that the 43-86 is not a very popular lens. There are several versions of the 50-f2, so that one would depend on which version it is.
I agree that the Nikonos is gem in the Nikon items.
I am looking for a used flash, since my SB 80 has issues now, and may be interested in the SB 26.

Thank you for the input. I have looked up the majority of the equipment on both e-bay and through our equipment list and google searches...but I wasn't sure how "desirable" these items are. And since it isn't my equipment I don't know how I should go about this...I have 2 dealers here that I plan to take this stuff to...but, like I said I was just trying to find out here if there was anything I should know before I go to the dealers. Rather than enter blindly.

I totally assume the the Nikon N90 and the Nikon EL2 are totally obsolete as digital camera have replaced those and they are a dime a dozen. And Robert said that the Nikonos has some value (wasn't sure because it too is film). I guess I need to take that to someone to ck out the seals etc...Robert what do you think about the marine meter and the flash unit are those of much value?

Now the lens I have original boxes for all but the 400mm, I've tried them all on my camera and they all seem to work...the Nikkor 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 AF and the Nikkor 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 AF have the kind of packaging (boxes) that I buy today but I know these lens are older generation. I don't think are big sellers and the Nikon 43-86mm f/3.5 and Nikon 50mm f/2, both of these are in the older gold box with the letter f on the box, when I attach these they are totally manual...again I think these are quite old (probably mid-90's).

Vivitar 400mm f/5.6
TX Mount (adapter)

Mamiya 135mm f/4.5 and Mamiya 80mm f/3.7 I know nothing about these at all.

Waddy, I'll bring the SB-26 with me to Fort Myers and you can ck it out. And I plan on bringing the lens to try out as well...

I was really hoping that the 35-105mm Macro would work for me...but I can't get close enough for what I want...but I might find out different this wkend...

Bump - now I have a question about the Vivitar TX Mount on this list

how is it used (I think I know but would like to hear it from ya'll)

is this something that I should get from my friend just cause she has it? (bear in mind that I have some other older lens that I have but can't use on the nikon NOW, so my thought is that I MIGHT be able to use them with this mount?)

how much should I give her for it?

AND I'm looking at the Nikkon Zoom 35-105 Macro Lens, that she has...what is your opinion about that lens

and what should I pay for that???

thanks again guys/gals....
