How far are you willing to go to get "the" shoot?

:)

Great photos. He even got the crowd in the shots. He was a little too close for good flash photography in the first shot.
He was very fortunate. That event could have ended a lot differently had anything been a little different. It happened so fast that I doubt that he had time to think about his own safety. Had he been standing 20 ft to the right, the wheelie bar would have taken his head off when it came across the barrier.
I would have probably done the same. When I am "in the zone" I don't always do the safest things.
It's a very good example of "no guts, no glory." He got some amazing shots.

The video at the bottom of the page shows he does end up backing up a couple of steps, but I doubt her really thought hard about his own safety. I'd have been right there. Once I'm looking through the viewfinder and "in the zone" I have a tendency to forget about other things. *shrug*

I'm guessing he froze with his finger on the shutter button. Just didn't react fast enough rather than choosing to stay and "get the shot". :)

Holy handgrenade, Batman! If that concrete abutment hadn't been there...*shudder*

But there's nothing quite like marrying two pop-culture references either, is there? ;-)

I prefer the pic of the photographer himself.. It's super cool the way the car's flying in the air with him standing inches away..

no you did good. i always laugh when batman is running around the harbor with that endless wick on the bomb...

ETA - and OT again but... the best part - i think - of the original batman movie - is whenever the bad guys are on film the camera angle is crooked. crooked like crooks :)
