Just stumbled upon this great collection of surrealist art and thought this would be a great topic for an expert editing challenge, especially given the last Surrealism challenge was basic editing and almost 5 years ago.

The idea works for me :- )

The problem is just how complex (or maybe open) the rule set would have to be . . I would suggest it needs to allow it would need to allow multiple images to be taken and blended as a minimum.

But otherwise - sounds cool.

Scott Mutter has a bunch of good examples.
Here is one of my favorites:

...and then I found he passed away last March! Now I am sad :(

Not wierd at all - in fact it was Alicias cat that set me off in that direction.

She led the way and I simply followed :- )

Great idea for a challenge. I love a lot of surrealist art, Max Ernst being a particular favourite. I'm also very keen for an Expert Editing challenge. I think there has only been one since i joined nearly a year ago.

I like this idea but I think that only it work under the expert editing rules. using only the advanced rules the creativity could be limited

Yeah, it would be pretty hard to find an eyeball that size

I made this two days ago.

The last Surrealism challenge ran under Basic, and demonstrated a ton of creativity.

I like the idea, I would prefer more than basic editing though. Although I could probably get by ok with advanced, I think expert would be fun to mess around with.

Maybe, but just look at what Labuda, Graphicfunk, Nikant, tyt2000, dacrazyrn, Seanachai and others managed to achieve in Basic Editing. The rules only limit the editing, not the creativity.

If this gets selected I would love to see you try to pull off something of this magnitude. Under basic editing of course.

Great challenge suggestion, I love surrealism. I think it should be under basic or advanced as that keeps it more about the shot you take rather than the processing afterwards. Be lots of fun trying to set shots up too :D hehe
