| Anyone know of any home printers that can print a decent photo for under $200? I'm not talking professional quality photos, but something that would be nice enough to hang on the wall. What do you think? |

Check out Epson. I shoot with Canon products, but have been impressed with the Stylus R380. Prints Hi Def photo quality prints up to 8 1/2 x 11. Uses 6 ink cartridges to produce great images. Although the cartridges run around $15 a pop. So not cheap ink, but you get what you pay for.
The printer was around $150. It can also print on Cd's. So if you want to make a fancy cover, it's capable. Just make sure to use Epson's paper with it. I did try using Kodak and Canon, with not the best results.
I original bought this, when I had no computer. So I just used the card slot reader and built in lcd to crop and print direct. Worked great, even better now with the Mac.
Good bang for the buck! |

| Well... I did some searching online and there were a few printers under $200 that had good reviews. I ended up getting the HP Photosmart Premium. It was normally $199 at Staples but they had a $60 instant rebate plus a $50 mail-in. My last few printers have been HP's and I've been satisfied with them. The Epson Artisan 710 and the Canon Pixma MP560 were my other two options, but the HP had the best deal and it has the highest DPI for color prints and scans. I haven't printed anything yet... but I'll post about it when I do. |
