My wife and I attended a Chris DeBurgh concert a few months ago and as usual they had on the tickets that you weren't allowed to take photos or videos. Well of course people were using their P&S cameras all over the place. At one point a lady and her young (maybe 7yo) daughter went to the stage to give him a boquette of flowers. When she gave them to him her husband stood and took their photo with Chris. Next thing you know security was escorting the man out of the theater in front of his wife and child. Chris noticed this and between the next songs he put it out to feel free to take photos. The man was allowed to rejoin his family. Chris went through the audience during "Lady In Red" and posed with many people for photos. I thought that was very cool of him.

Now, if it's ok with the artist to take photos, why was the theater so strict? Just my opinion, but in this day and age of cell phone cameras and P&S cameras getting smaller and better, why can't the tickets be printed with something I have seen lately. That you can feel free to take photos at the concert, but that all rights to the said photos belong to the artist, unless you are one of the contracted pros there, then that's a different story. After all, 99% of the people there are just taking them for their own use.
