I published a Blurb book called "One" a few months ago with fifty photos from 2006 through 2009. This collection shows those pictures, in the order they appear in the book. I chose the order to reflect a kind of story that fit the theme of the book, which is "transformation through solitude".
A couple of people asked me about the Blurb experience. The quality of the Blurb book is very good. I chose the regular paper instead of the premium paper, and the cloth cover with dust jacket. I was very impressed with the product I got, and would definitely use them in future. A book like this would make a great portfolio introduction for anyone. I used the Blurb software, which is simple, but very flexible, and I got the layout exactly as I envisioned it. Blurb also allows you to use InDesign templates, which would also be a good fit.
I don't generally take photos like this any more, so I thought I'd upload these as a kind of passing of the type of stuff I was very interested in before. Many have been on DPC before, but I moved on for a while and took the pictures and the comments down for a year. This is a good representation of the kind of photos I took for many years. Below is a small sampling. Any critiquing of my style would be appreciated and returned in kind. Thanks for looking.

Louis,
I took a look at your book on the Blurb site.
Great idea for a book and wonderful photos. The 'One' theme fits your image choices wonderfully. |

This entire series is brilliant. I havent used blurb before, but a coworker of mine processed her own wedding album using them. That was a year ago, and I hadnt thought of it since I read your post. I will have to give it a shot myself.

| Thanks for posting the link Ray... if you happen to look at the book preview, don't mind the long-winded and pretentious introduction. ;-) |

Actually, I rather liked the introduction, particularly since I read if after having viewed the images. I thought I had a fair grasp of the message contained in the photographic representations and was glad to find out that my interpretation was correct.
Very powerful and very spiritual images that truly made me ponder and reflect on my own background.
The very best of luck to you in this very worthwhile endeavour.
Ray
