I want to make a famiy slideshow that I can play in the DVD player, what is the best programs to do this with? normally I just use windows mobie maker, what programs do you guys use for this?

I use Adobe Premiere Elements

another program that's quite popular is Pro Show Gold.

you know, I've never used that and had it for a while.. lol okay how do you fade the music in on there?

On Premiere elements?

It's quite easy. Right click the audio track you want to fade and select properties. There will be selections for fade in and fade out. They fade for a default amount of time but you can change that.

If the question was for Pro Show Gold, I have no idea but suspect it's just as straight forward.

No. I'll help if I can. I'm currently using version 7 (I upgraded from version 4 recently).

I have Adobe Premiere Pro .. I don't know what version it is..

That's ok. I don't have the Pro version so there's probably a lot more you can do that I can't.

now if only I knew how.. lol ah well a few days or reading and playing I'll get it figured out.. hopefully.. do when i am finished creating the clip I want I just burn to a DVD and it should work in the DVD player for the TV right?

You'll find all the options for burning a DVD within Premiere. It's fun. You get to create the DVD menus and scene selections just like a commercial DVD.
