LOL!!! I suppose you could paint them... :-) |
Sounds like a fun challenge topic. Convert an image to black and white then paint the color back in by hand. It could at least be a fun side challenge anyways. I've done a couple of them and they're a lot of fun...now where did I put those pictures...

Hundreds and hundreds of years ago they called it 'hand-tinting photographs' apparently. ;) |

Wonder how I got those two mixed up?
Of course, now that I think about it, "Piss Christ" was a sculpture, wasn't it? Of course I've only seen a photo of it.
I'd certainly want any "golden showers" de-saturated. Yikes! |

I like to shoot in b&w 'cuz it is easier for me to develop.. of course I cant enter them in a challenge. It seems harder for me to get a "good" shot/compostion, but I should probably try harder when shooting in color too.

Even if you can't quite get it in camera, I find that converting images to B&W helps me check the composition and the strengths of the tones. I'll also flip an image horizontally to see if the composition feels strong. If it passes these two tests I proceed to process in color. |

Well, Serrano made an actual "piss Christ", but the presented work of art is a photograph.
"desaturated" :D

This is interesting! I wonder if it would have created the same stir if he simply took a photo of a crucifix and used his own urine as a film developer?
