Hello,
I just purchased a Nikon Coolpix S70 (the one on TV where Ashton Kutcher is running around with it, or the new one with the OLED touch screen) for my daughter for Christmas. Even though she's only 12 and has access to my D300, D200, D50, and Fuji point&shoot, she wants a camera that she can call her own, and take with her. I was wondering if these Nikon P&Ss allow you to take RAW photographs or are they only JPGs.
Does anyone know if this camera allows you to shoot in RAW? I looked all over and didn't see anything so I am thinking it doesn't.
ps. She's a registered user here, but she doesn't go on much..so keep it quiet. Shhhh.

| I read somewhere that you could hack some point & shoots to shoot at faster shutter speed and record raw files. |

| You can download the instruction manual here... I don't see any mention of RAW support in it. |

There is a hack for some Canon models called "CHDK" that can do this. Not sure if something like that has been done for Nikons or not. |

Thank you for your research. I looked on Nikon's site and googled around a bit, but didn't see anything. She won't need it. I was just wondering. I don't intend on hacking it or doing anything crazy if that was possible. I was just wondering. Personally, I only shoot RAW anymore.
