I'd like to post a thumbnail of a DPC photo on my profile page, but can't figure it out. I've read Bod's good tutorial, but I still can't make it work. Any suggestions?

Do you want just a thumbnail? Or do you want the thumbnail to link?
---just a thumbnail---
Right click the thumbnail you want
Click properties
Copy the URL displayed (the one that ends in .jpg)
Put that url in the [img] [/ img] tags (with no space)
---linking thumbnail---
Follow the steps above
Go to the full view page of the image, eg //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=76259 and copy the URL in the Address bar
Use the URL tags in the following way
[url = The URL from the address bar][img] the thumbnail URL from the previous method [/ img][/ url] (with no spaces)
This should then work :)
Hopefully I've made it easy enough to understand. Just ask me again if you need anything cleared up :)

I just thought of an easier way :)
Use the [thumb] tags in the forums using the button .
Then go to edit your post. You will see the full code needed to get that into your profile :)

One difficulty is that there is a different overall form of url for the portfolio pics and the challenge pics.
How difficult would it be for the code guys to make the "thumb" thing work for our profiles?

Putting all thumbs in this forum and then copy and paste into profile. It would've saved me 15 minutes. |

That doesn't work. All you do is right click on the thumbnail and copy and paste the thumnail url between the [img] [/img]
It goes like this. I removed the [ in front of the url and img but make sure you add them.
url=//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=10062] img]//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/50/thumb/10062.jpg[/img][/url] |

Yeh that's what I said :)
You can't use the actual [thumb] tags in your profile, but if you edit a forum post in which you used the [thumb] tags, you will see it has been converted to the long code you've written, which does work in profiles.

Your right. I did it the old fashioned way, like when we didn't have the fancy little thumbnail button :) |
