Im wondering if anyone has taken a course through these guys //www.traininghott.ca/ or can recommend somewhere that is reputable that teaches HTML and Java for web authoring?

Your best bet is to simply buy books. The best reference work is Dynamic HTML: The Definitive Reference, 3rd edition. A great JavaScript book is JavaScript: The Devinitive Guide (seems to be out of print though).
The above HTML book is the best reference for people wanting to know the nuts and bolts of HTML (as well as CSS and JavaScript). I highly, highly recommend it. |

I know a wee bit of HTML and CSS but need a jump start course to get me up to speed. Unfortunately I'm a highly visual learner and have difficulties with books as I usually have a hard time staying awake lol. But will look into those books as well.

//www.w3schools.com/ They have crash courses on pretty much everything.. tryit editors are a great way to learn the language!

looked at w3schools.com and wow it does look like a great resource, but Im also trying to find a classroom solution as well.

Mount Royal or U of C might have a continuing ED course that meets your needs. |

I can totally recomend the "learn in 24 hours" type books, thats how I started. They are effectively a course rather than a text book, you have lessons to follow as you go through the book. |
