I have worked for about a month on this new site.
For those who would like to see it the adress is:

//www.vinasphoto.com

I hope you like my new design. And of course any input is appreciated :)

I like the stylistic theme, but some sort of understated navigation scheme on the first page would be useful. After it loaded I kept waiting since there was no indication of what to do (eventually I checked and noticed that the photograph was a hyperlink). It might be useful, and minimal effort, to add content to the alt and title attributes on the front page as well, which might help with search engine indexing, as well as accessibility.

(I can't comment on the rest since I don't have support for Adobe Flash.)

Thanks. That is a good idea. Thanks

Even a subtle, 60% transparent "Click here to enter", maybe on an 80% transparent band across the bottom of the front page picture.

That said, I'm personally not a fan of the "splash screen" style of website. It's just one extra click to get at the goods. If you're selling your stuff, or even if this is a professional portfolio of some kind, I think the splash screen is superfluous, and goes against that "seven seconds to grab them" rule.

But it's a beautiful splash page nonetheless. :)

Just a thought: you also might consider making the white text on the front page a subtle grey (something like #999 or even #666 in CSS parlance).

Great portfolio and presentation!

Hope you are open for some critical inputs.

Like Louis, not a big fan of the splash page (also not a trend in web design world anymore). As a user stumbling on the website I would have clicked out from there, even though the picture used is great the page itself is not impressive. Font used is very old style.

Once on your homepage, pictures are just impressive, if I were you, that would be my first page of display!

You don't need to write "Home Page" and "Contact Page" .. home and contact will work fine.

Name of the photographer at every page is just another form of getting people to remember your name... its after all a form of advertising.

I would have the sub-menu under portraits show up on mouse over, instead of a click.

it might be a good idea to some how tag the display images that are for sale, and have one click access to the add 'me' to cart options.

what i mean is. whammo there's a photo i'd like to buy, but wait, i have to find it again ( under the prints for sale link ) ? impact might be lost, click thru might not happen.

I love it too. What provider did you select? Is the display software custom or is available?
The pages loaded very quickly considering the size of the images. Congrats on a nice site. It didn't take much thought on my part to figure out what to do.
