Last week at the star party I bought a modifed web cam for lunar and planatary imaging.
this was shot with my 80mm refractor scope (400mm fl) and the web cam, single shot. I tried stacking multiple images, but a single image cleaned up much nicer, I still need to work on the focusing a bit
only down side is the mage is a fixed 640x480 size. but its pretty cool seeing the moon on the screen of the laptop, many people can view at the same time...

This is a Nice shot. Very clear, a bit unsharped. But... to a Web cam this is very great! Congrats. |

yea its not bad for a $99 camera. It gives a live video feed to the laptop. I know its a bit soft, but there were some very thin clouds last night and I did not have the focus set very good.
I will try it with my moon filter to see if that helps any.

im not sure, its a generic import i think, it came with the necessary modifications to hook it up to the telescope. I will look at it tonight to see who the maker is.
I was told it is comparable to the highly popular Philips ToUcam Pro 840k that is the HOT web cam for Lunar and planatary photography.
