Hi, I am new at DPChallenge and just entered my first photo into the Symmetry III challenge. I was wondering, how do you guys approach a new challenge? Do you just go out looking for something that matches the challenge description or do think out a concept and plan it beforehand?
I'm here to learn so I appreciate all comments. Thanks!

For me it depends on the challenge. Most of the time I think about what type of pic I want to shoot. Some challenges are easier than others on deciding. However, sometimes I just go out looking....I.E. the 47 step challenge. Didn't have much of a choice on that one....47 steps from my door sortof restrained me to one thing...ya-know.

Take each challenge as a new challenge. Take a look at the results in the previous Symmetry 1&2 challenges. See what scored the best. Let these marvelous interpretations of the theme pique your imagination. |

I've only been here since January, but it has changed drastically many times during the year.
Sometimes I would think about what I was good at photographing, and then I'd see how I could fit that into a challenge.
Sometimes I would just wander around, seeing if something popped up.
Many times, I'd view previous challenges to see what worked, what didn't, and what was overdone. If I liked the idea, I'd look to see if there was anyway I could change it or update it so that I wouldn't be duplicating another person's shot.
I'm stuck with symmetry at the moment. I've tried all three methods and nothing is working.
