Here are some samples from my shoot with Actress, Singer and Artist Joséphine de La Baume for VOGUE Brasil RG. For the November issue 2009.
Want to thank:
Freddy Baby Paris for the wonder retouching job she did
Christophe Durand for his perfect Make-Up as usual.
Sebastien Quinet for his creativity as a Hair Stylist and some fun photo captures
Yasmine Sterea, VOGUE Brasil stylist, who was incredibly positive during the highly charged ambiance.
Thanks for your Cool.
â€Â¦and Josephine for her warmth and hospitality.
For those of you wanting to know the gear I used. I shot with the Pentax K20D, Pentax 16-50 f/2.8 lens a couple of Multiblitz Compact Lite 200 watt second mono block strobes.

Really interesting stuff - I wouldn't have been nearly bold enough to shoot in backgrounds / contexts this busy; You've pulled it off of course. |

Ben, Let me start off by saying that I have looked thru your port here and your website and I scan every photo and try to figure out the mood that is created by where you placed your lighting, and, foremost, the mood created by the model thru her pose or expression. You excel at capturing attention from the viewer( well I guess I can only speak for myself). BUT the latest pics you have posted here from your Vogue Brazil shoot do not do that for me. I find them looking amateurish. Was that intentional? Were these scenes all your idea? Or was the concept part of someone else's plan? The "model" actress is a little lifeless and drab. Your lighting is pretty flat and uninteresting.Unlike you.
Look forward to seeing the next assignment.

Just curious, Benjamin, if you are moving up to the K7? You were testing/reporting on the K20D before public sale. Haven't read anything on this yet... maybe going back to Canon? |

They were intended to be "Parody" like. The reason for the Fake Moose Head. Being an Aristocrat, I wanted to shake up what would be considered classic and do some stuff that was more RAW.

If it ain't broke, why fix it? Last week I used a 50 mega pixel 'Blad for a shoot. In most cases the K20D is overkill. None the less, being a free agent, keeps the possibilities open. Back to Canon? I don't think so. But... ;-)

Nice work, Ben. I especially like the one where she is wearing the beret and striped shirt -- parodic, but also compelling. |

In that case, well done.
