I bought (less then 3 months ago) 100-400L IS USM lens, it vibrated and 'jumped' when focusing, I returned to canon (took just less than 2 weeks to return) they replaced the IS on it. Days later was still 'jumping' and shutting off a LOT. I took back to store and complained and canon replaced it with a new one which I just got.
I just thought some of you might like to know, i.e canon service ect. or perhaps product problem.
