long shot - pretty sure. especially with the hour long process of connecting to your 'friends'...

Wii are safe from swear words... :)

My daughters LOVE Animal Crossing. We haven't networked with anyone else, but I'm sure they'd be thrilled to try it.

I would be willing to exchange friend codes with you, and other info so you could visit my town. I found a group of people on facebook, and exchanged my code with a few people and for the first time the other day someone visited me. It was a young man from Bosnia. It was a little different, and I was a cartoon character ( not my mii) and I had forgotten I had a mustache on for fun, and he said, " can I ask you a question?". I said sure, and he asked me why a female would have a mustache ?---I got a big laugh out of that---so, I took it off, and gave it to him! I've never seen him again...

private message me with your friend codes...name of your town, and name of yourself when you play and I will do the same....

Have you experienced difficulty connecting? I haven't had that problem...usually connects within a few moments.

a few moments ( 30min or so ) after all the BS involved in exchanging/typing in codes.

compared to xbox360. Wii is a PITA IMO

just as a comparison - i can logon to xbox.com, enter the gamertag of someone i played with yesterday ( or a month ago ), and send a friend request. that's it. take 2 seconds. when that person logs onto their xbox, they have a message showing my request to be friends. they then can accept/reject that request. once they accept the request, we can see whenever either are online - and connect up with any mutual games. you dont have to be online at the same time, dont have to exchange any 16 digit codes. you don't have game codes to enter on top of friend codes.... you can also do the same right from the xbox while playing a game, and send an invite to join yours in real time. the only lag is how long it takes the requested to view the message...

FWIW we have a Wii too, and i rarely get the patience up to try to play Wii over the net. xbox, on the other hand, well that's an almost daily thing. oh and there is a headset that comes with the machine that lets you talk to people - even while playing different games.

i know, just stating the facts - so to speak. wouldnt have said anything, if i wasnt questioned...

i think i know who would win the war though :0

just for my satisfaction :) how long ( in general ) does it take you to get a friend online, exchange friend codes, enter game codes, and be playing ? oh and is it all done thru the Wii messaging system.

you exchange your friend code through email, etc...it takes about a minuite to enter the code into your game...then when both of you are playing Animal Crossing you check for friends also playing and go to the gate and open your gate for visitors---about 2 mins I would say. I've never used the Wii messaging system. I've also never played on-line with any other game. I've never owned another game system either...unless, you count all the systems and games I purchased for my son over the years---I rarely played those games.

My kids play the Wii online against some friends back in the states. It usually only takes a minute or two to get a game set up and start playing. They are begging us for Wii Speak now, But we haven't decided if we want even more noise coming from them. Thinking it over. Maybe for Xmas.

from what i can tell you need to go talk to Copper up at the gate and get your code, email that to me, then in the on screen menu add my code in your friends tab and go talk to copper again to invite me

You have to input all the info in your friends tab....friend code, name of town, and name of person....then you go to the gate and talk to Cooper and tell him you want to visit a friend...he will check for you and let you know if any of your entered friends are available and their gate is open....you can also tell Cooper to open your gate which makes you available for visits. I wonder if your gate is open and you are receiving friends if you can have several friends visit at once ?
