I'll be in Vegas the 13th - 16th of November. I'd like to spend a couple of nights shooting the strip. Anybody have any advice? Or maybe advice shooting Vegas and surrounds during the day?
For the record, I'll be at Nellis shooting the air show Sat and Sun during the day.
Any DPC folks up for a mini-GTG? |

"Fremont Street Experience"!!
Don't miss this free show, I love watching this show every time I'm in Vegas.
It has a $70 million light canopy, $17 million in upgrades and 550,000-watt sound system!
Hours of operation: Show times are every hour on the hour from 8:30 p.m. - midnight.

Don't gamble with any money that you can't afford to loose. :)
I don't have any advice to offer on photographing the place. I've been there more times than I care to remember, and even lived there for a while, but I don't remember ever shooting a single photo. We were always too busy having fun, gambling and gamboling, or laying by the pool nursing a hangover. ;p
Enjoy!

Well, the fountains at the Bellagio are always beautiful, and a great opportunity for some creative exposures. Along the strip there are endless possibilities. Some of the pedestrian bridges provide good vantage points to get above the crowd. I shot this from one of the bridges earlier this year...
Fremont Street Experience, as previously mentioned, is a great opportunity.
There is a fabulous view of the strip from up high from the observation deck at Rio (Rio is across I 15 to the West, so a dusk/twilight shot would be beautiful). I believe Rio does charge a small admission fee for the deck, which if I recall is accessed from the Voodoo Steak & Lounge restaurant. |

For the record Kirbic shot was taken on the walkway between New York- New York and the MGM ( I was about 40 feet away and didn̢۪t know it) LOL.
Fountains of the Bellagio and Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Sirens of TI
The Mirage Volcano and Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat.
The list goes on and on.
BTW I will be at Aviation Nation also.. ÂÂ

hey all - I will be at a conference in Vegas from 11/12 - 11/14 (and at the Grand Canyon on 11/11 yipee!) but now that I saw this thread - I'm thinking of sneaking over to the airshow :) Not sure how i would find anyone there tho lol
Question for you pros: The Nellis website says large camera bags are prohibited. What is "large"? I have this: LowePro LINX
If there is going to be a GTG any of these days, let me know! :) |

Michelle, I'm sure your bag will be OK, I have never had a problem even after the first year after 9-11. BTW bring lawn chairs arrive early. |

Because of the conference, we are not going to be able to get there early. I'll have to take my chances on that. And since I'm flying into Vegas - no lawn chairs! I'll just bring some really really good walking shoes lol
Any idea on what the weather is like there for that time of year? |

I live close to St. George Utah. Temps are usually 5-7 degrees warmer in Las Vegas. Yesterdays high was 80 here, Tuesday will only get to 60. Best guess is figure between 50 -60 average temp. |

BTW ask your hotel about any discounts on tram tickets, The tram is the god send of the strip.. |
