Is it possible to provide some of the pictures here with a desktop wallpaper version resolution (1024 x 768 for me). It would have to be at the authors discretion of course.. So if they wish, they upload a wallpaper version of the shot that people can download.
I bring this up because I would like to use some of the shots here as wallpaper, but 640 resolution doesnt cut it. I know there are ownership and copyright issues as well, perhaps a DPC watermark would work for this?

| Have you tried requesting a 1024x768 file from the individual photographer via PM? They may be willing to e-mail it to you if you assure them it won't be used improperly. |

No I haven't, but I knew that was a tentative option. I just thought that adding it to the website somehow would make it easier. I don't really like requesting things by email, there seems to be enough spam in the electronic airwaves these days.

It could be an addition to DPCPrint. Awallpaper section for let's say 0.95$ each available in 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1600x1200... !

I doubt if this suggestion will go very far because many people here won't want to let there images go so cheaply, after all many are trying to sell prints. Some even object to uploading a full size file to SC for verification.
Here's another approach-- if anyone is interested in trading with me, I'll e-mail them a 1024x768 of any image I have on dpc if they will e-mail me the same of something from the dpc images. Only restriction is that they be used only as wallpaper on the recipient's computer, nothing else without further permission. No cost to anyone. Any takers? |
