| Does Canon typically do a christmas rebate thing? |

| Canon is not showing rebates on their website, but their lenses are marked down now at B&H and several other places. $150 on the one I want. It is the other $1600 that is bothering me:) |

| Do they ever have rebates on the bodies? It looks like the fall rebates in 2007 at least didn't include any bodies. |

I've never seen one on camera bodies unless in was in concert with a lens. |

| They have had an instant rebate on bodies before, I purchased a 40D body only that had an instant $100 rebate. Most I've seen though you have to purchase something else as well. |

| I just bought a 5D mkII and I got a $400 rebate when I bought a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 printer to go with it. |

With the large jump in prices over the last 6mths or so, the "rebates" are small and not on a lot of lenses... A number of the retailers seem to have done the usual trick of magically increasing the price then deducting the rebate :-/
Oh well.... Have to take some pics instead :-) |

I noticed that as well. The last few weeks I've been trying to sell my Canon 10-22 on craigslist and was looking at what the lens was going for on Amazon, B&H and Adorama as a reference . Three weeks ago it was $730 brand new, a week later it jumped to $780 and now with the rebates it's back down to $730..hmm. |
