Is there any info on the new 70-200 lens? I can't seem to find anything. What would be different, the IS? |

That ISO102,400 crop is a joke!! It looks like my 300D did when I run the hack to get ISO3200 - a bloody mess! I really cannot see the point. |
ISO 102,400 should be a joke, seriously, what could you possibly expect. |
correction; what could you possibly expect from cnet.
I don't trust their methods at all. we should wait until they send one to a REAL reviewer like dpreview

Anyone else have one of these on pre-order? Wondering where you have one placed at.

I attended a Canon workshop these weekend and several Canon reps were there and of course the Mark IV came up several times. Supposedly there are only nine units that exist at this point and they had possession of two. He said he would get one out but the group got involved in a lighting project that was more educational than just playing around with a new toy. But I can't brag that I had my hands on one...
The rep recently shot a Cowboys game with the camera and had some prints on display. He shot in RAW + jpg but no raw converter exists yet so the prints were made from jpg. The photos only had a slight curves adjustment so were pretty much out of camera. The prints were huge and besides being incredibly sharp, what amazed me was the lack of noise. He said he was shooting at ISO 1600 or 3200 throughout and even in the underexposed shadows noise was virtually absent, and that was with me looking hard to see it. At a distance of more than a couple feet away I could see no noise at all.

But then you could worry less when that wave hits you the next time. :D
I can't wait for mine to arrive. I've played with some shots in PS and lightoom from really high ISO and the files are incredible. :D
