| So which lenses are the best bang for your buck? Like the Canon 50mm/1.8 for instance. |

| Canon 70-200 F/4L at about $600 by far the cheapest L glass you will buy, BUT, it will get expensive as you will never be satisfied with regular glass again.. |

| Best for Nikon, IMO is the Nikon AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f2.8D. Its available for less than $500 USD on B&H. |

200 f/2.8 prime for canon. I have it, and with university access to seemingly limitless equipment (600 f/4, 400 2.8, 300 2.8 etc etc etc) i still use it very often and am very glad to own it.
SHARPER than the 70-200 2.8 at half the cost. |
