I saw a bird in my yard today that has not been here before, or at least I have never noticed one like it. I grabbed the 180 f2.8 and got a couple of hand held shots at low shutter speed before it flew away. I was about 25 ft from it, so they are cropped a lot and blurry. I hope that the color markings show enough in the photos that someone will know what it is, or at least what family of birds to search for an ID.
It is sitting on a 1X2 in the photo, so it is about the size of a house finch, or or canary. It's about 4 inches long.

User macrothing has identified this as an "American Redstart", which migrates through Florida this time of year. Thank you M T ! This thread is done now : )
