I heard about this 'sandwich' from a colleague last night who swears he saw it on the menu in Rhode Island. I'm interested to see what people think about this one.

No bread, so it must be healthy. I'd try it. |

Someone's having you on. This is inconceivable for KFC, LOL. They're doing all this marketing for the new, unfried KFC, and they throw this in our faces? I'll eat the wrapper if that's real.

ETA: But damn, that looks tasty in a grotesque sort of way, sort of a KFC version of Chicken Cordon Bleu, LOL... |

And THIS is what America's food health freaks have brought us to, that the great food staple of civilization since time immemorial is now deemed "unhealthy"? Jesus wept. Literally. Should He have conjured up Bran and Fishes?

Gross! Look at all that artery-clogging cheese and fried skin. Yuck! :-(
Can you say "saturated fat" and "cholesterol"? :D

And the WORST part is, I took Penny to the airport in Providence this Friday; had I known this was happening, I'd have gone to a KFC to document it myself; it's SO totally over-the-top... I wonder if it will still be on the menu when I go pick her up in 3 weeks?

Yes, please. If anyone actually buys one of these, they can save the wrapper and mail it to me. I'll take a picture of me eating it...

That seems like it would be incredibely hard/messy to eat. on a side note: I tried thier new "healthier" chicken last week and it was dripping with grease. It may not have fried skin but still didn't seem very healthy to me. |

I was just thinking that myself. What they should do is carefully coat the entire thing with batter and deep fry it. |

Ah, that'd be PERFECT. "Try KFC's new, double-fried double-dip!"

Deep frying the entire thing was my first thought too! I am going to try one of these. I actually live about 20 minutes from westerly RI. Tomorrow or thursday I'm gettin' one! I will give my culinary review soon after. |

How much cholesterol is in the KFC Double Down Sandwich?
Also, the Vancouver Sun has done an independent calorie analysis for the "Double Down" and has concluded the "sandwich" likely has 1228 calories.
