Yeah, a shallow dof is cute and works well sometimes, but what if I wante everything to be in focus? Do I have to shoot in aperture priority all the time? If I select the landscape shooting mode on the 300D I don't think I turn the flash off. What if I want it off? I'm going nuts here!!!! Help please!

Aperture priority and manual will give you the most control over depth of field. Set the aperture to the largest number in either case for maximum depth of field. I believe in landscape mode the flash is off but check your manual for confirmation of that.

I do most of may landscapes in Av mode on a tripod, only changing to Tv mode when I'm wanting to control the speed. The DOF is controlled by the apperture and as big an fstop as possible is best.

If you want to turn the flash off, simply pop it back down after it pops itself up. It can get annoying if you're shooting a lot but it does the trick :P

in manual mode the flash will never pop up - use the meter to set the desired aperture, and shutter speeds while still metering near center on the scale.
meter on a mid lit part of the scene ( ie. not the brightest or the darkest area ) to get correct exposure.

According to the function availability table on page 122 of the digital rebel manual the flash is automaticly off in the landscape mode. :)
