I've used about 4 different types of wired and wireless connections to trigger my flashes and I think I am done fighting with cords to hook my wireless triggers up so I've decided to dig deep into my pockets and pick up a pocket wizard or two but I have no clue which one to get and I know nothing about them.
Could someone give me a little insight on these before I hand over the chunk of cash.
Mainly why is this guy selling 2 transceivers? Is it for 2 cameras or can I use on for my flash? I have a total of 5 flashes that I could use at once so someone tell me what I need to make this work.
Thanks
and yeah I know I'm stupid for not knowing this information but I've been way to busy to even look into it. |

They (ETA: Plus II's and Flex)work interchangably as receivers and transmitters. You can also trigger a second body with them. Mini is AFAIK trigger only.
As for which you want, it will depend how much you are willing to spend and if you are interested at all in the idea of ITTL flash triggering remotely. The Plus II will only do manual, but the flex and mini do ITTL. Keep in mind the Nikon Flex/Mini aren't out yet, but are scheduled for "early 2010."
There are other options if you want ITTL (Radiopoppers, for instance). If you want just manual, Cybersyncs have an excellent rep too.

The mini TT1 and Flex TT5 are great little gizmos, however they have a couple of drawbacks..
1. Price - expensive.
2. Build quality isn't worth the money. Feels very plasticy. Feels like it wont take much punishment.
3. In the US, the frequency it operates on is the same as the one (trying to sound techy now) that the capacitor on the 580ex mk2 throws out when recharging, so can interfere with operation. Not a problem in Europe though as it works on a different set of frequencies.
But they do work exactly as described and are great fun - I have had them working with no line of sight upto 100metres, with a wall/window between me and them.
Nikon ones due very soon.
