THis was a quick study photo. I'm going to have photography classes and the first class will be about focus, metering and DOF.
I took this photo some minutes ago and have done only quick adjustments on it. The idea was to achieve very long DOF, having most of the picture in focus. I tried to balance the focus to keep everything as sharp as possible, using lowest focal lenght, smallest aperture, manual focus, iso 100, tripod, 2 sec timer, etc. But I think it is just not possible to have everything sharp with my lens, considering the distance of the subject to the lens being so small. The lens were like 1 feet away or less from the subject. Ah, one last thing to mention is that I used the builtin flash with a home made diffuser on it.

On the photo page there is full exif information, so you can look at it.

What was your point of focus here?

There is a lot of information on here about using hyperfocal distance to achieve long DOF, which you might find interesting. I forget the details but a search will turn it up. The key thing I recall is to focus 1/3 into the area that you want to be in focus. There are also various online calculators to help you work out where to focus for a given aperture, distance, required DOF etc.
