Hey Ed, How ya doing? I would if I could, but as you know, I can't. What a bummer. I know it would be fun. My next GTG is going to be with the Aussie and Kiwi Gang. I get to meet Judi and joynim along with whoever else shows up. Looking forward to it. But Breakfast here isn't much to howel about. |

Can we come up with dates when people are free? I'm free Sept 27th, Oct 4th and 11th. Also how about some location ideas. Fall color is starting up nicely and should be good for the next 3 or 4 weeks. |

I'll have limited availability Oct 3 and 4.
I was tentatively planning on being at Devil's Lake on the 3rd. |

I think I could make it on the 3rd.
I can not make it on the 3rd after all. I have to work next Saturday.

I'm surely interested. We will need to keep an eye out for when the color starts to peak. There's limited color now, but if we get some colder nights, it could go fast. Pretty dry this year, and the trees are stressed. |

I talked to the lady who lives next door to our house in Wisconsin (aka our old Neighbor) on the phone this morning, She said that one of the trees in our front yard has been shedding already, It is a Silver Maple and is usually the first tree in the neighborhood to go bare every fall. Normally the rest start to change shortly afterwards. So I would say you guys got a good 2 weeks before things begin to peak in SE WI... That is just a calculated guess though, I am not there to see what the rest of the area is looking like. Sure wish I could join the fun though. You guys will have to cure my home sickness with lots of photos after the GTG.

Why don't you guys try Lapham Peak State Park. You can climb up the 5 story high Fire Tower and get an awesome 360 view. If the color is out it can be quite amazing. On a very clear day Holy Hill is visible, You can see a couple of Lakes from up there also. Pewaukee Lake is one, The other is in Delafield. Not sure of the name of the Lake though.
There are plenty of trails in the area also with some interesting things to see. Sorry but I am not to savy on the Breakfast in the area however and I know that is a very important part of the package.

Found a link to a fishing report from the above link. Looks like chinook are beginning to move up the Root River. I'll be there in two weeks with my fly rod!
(Sorry for the sidebar. Thanks for the link.) |

Fall colors were pretty well along in Wausau last weekend, this weekend may well be peak. Colors at Devil's lake were just starting and are probably a couple weeks off. |

Yeah, Wausau colors are peaking now. It's rainy and windy though, so not sure how long those leaves are going to last. |

I take back the part about Breakfast. There is a nice little Cafe in Eagle. My wife and I had breakfast there once and it was very good. I think it is called The Hen House. It is fairly close to Lapham Peak.
