Im looking to find a fairly inexpensive P&S to convert to infrared, but im not sure what to get. Im not ready to convert my XT for just infrared use, so can anyone suggest a P&S thats not too pricey?

A lot of the older Olympus cameras are great for IR with just a filter on the end

I have a C-2100 UZ I picked up for very little and a Hoya R72 filter on the end. put it in B&W mode and you're good to go.

Got any sample shots? What are the exposure times like?

edit: Maybe i should just pick up a cheap 300D body to convert to IR. That way i can use all my lenses, improve the shutter speed, and be able to look through the view finder to focus.

I converted my old 300D to IR. the images are great and so is the ability to see what I am shooting. The only problem is that the write speed is so slooooowwwwwww. Definitely worth it though.

I had lifepixel do it. I did the standard IR conversion. Took about 3 weeks from my door back to my door.

The IR images in this folder are from the converted camera.

Images such as this:

only have auto-tone and resize done to them in CS4.

Images such as this:

I used auto-tone then duplicated the layer and used invert in the color mode, then resize.
