Which area would you recommend me hit for photography this fall?
Montreal, Quebec or Nova Scotia?
I am heading to Maine next weekend and I wanted to hit Canada. Which one would your recommend? |

I have been to Montreal and Quebec... they are only 3 hours from eachother and are both very nice.
Montreal:
Notre Dame Basilica
Mont Royal
Old Port
Ile Ste. Helene
Quebec
Chateau Frontenac
The Citadel
Old Quebec
Montmorency Falls
Ste. Anne de Beaupre
I havent been to N.S. yet, so I cannot comment on it. |

I love Montreal. Love love love it! However, I had the chance to go to Halifax and some lake country in N.S. and it was very beautiful but I didn't get to travel as much as I would have liked so I can't speak specifically about any landmarks. The province is picturesque though. Vieux (old) Quebec City is also spectacular! I can't say enough about la belle province! |

I would have to recommend Nova Scotia, esp if you can travel into Cape breton. Follow the link I provided and you can read about it. I was born and raised on Cape Breton Island and never got tired of looking at the scenery. The huge waves of the Atlantic, the trip around the Cabot trail, the best mean temp in Canada and the Scottish traditions that will steal your heart.

I can never get links to work but maybe some kind soul will fix the one I posted. Maggie |

Big Question Jaime,
I think it would depend on the time you have, Short time .. I'd suggest Montreal, more time then Montreal and Quebec, if you have more time then NS.
Both are amazing, but to get the best out of this visit, you really have to plan it and time it,
Sunrise here, noon then Noterdam, Sunset would be great at Mont Royal, then Old port for night shot .. well you got it.
VirmainB's mentioned the best in Montreal Quebec, can't add more.
All the best,

I would go to Nova Scotia. There are too many Quebecers in Quebec. ;-)

Nova Scotia is just spectacular, whilst Montreal and Quebec are both great cities. I think it depends on whether Jaime's a city boy or a country boy: if he's a big-city type, then maybe Nova Scotia for a change of pace, and vice versa if he's a country fella? I see by his profile he's from Houston, so as far as that's concerned all-of-the-above are alien to him :-)
