DPC Enemies List

Not that I'm too surprised by SC's behaviour, just curious if there's any reason other than jerkiness on their part.

Actually, it's behaviour like that which gives me the urge to shoehorn "Big Brother" photos into every single challenge. Hmmm, that could be interesting! :-D

Didn't notice that it had been locked, but I was among the first to report that thread. Not exactly a warm welcome for newbies, and I can't imagine Langdon allowing that sort of thing. It's bad for business, ya' know. Ditto your offensive photo (potentially a TOS violation all by itself).

I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know if that photo is a TOS violation before I start my Big Brother Shoehorn Project.

A few of these shots may also be TOS violations according to you.

Not to start anything or anything, but I am curious about the TOS violation reference to the previously posted picture when there has been more than one photo of essentially the same thing entered into various challenges? Aren't they all potentially TOS violations? And if so, why are they allowed in challenges?

EDIT: You beat me to the thread Slippy.

"4.2 You will not use the DPChallenge.com Service to post content... that (vi) is designed to or does harass, threaten, defame or abuse others, (ix) is generally offensive or in bad taste."

While the similar images have been entered in challenges, they do not "harass, threaten, defame or abuse others." The same may not be true in a thread designed to make newbies think you're addressing them personally. Of course, if the majority of SC thought it was a blatant TOS violation, the offender would have already been booted. Still...

Haha, I love the term newbies and the general thought that they don't understand anything, ever.

Yeah, they're dumb.

This thread may very well implode and cause a quantum singularity in the DPC space-time continuum.

The thread wasn't designed for Newbies. It was for Yo-Spiff's amusement from another thread.

You're in violation of rule 14, Shannon:
"Assume good faith. When replying to a post, your reply must assume that the original poster's message was intended to be constructive and follow the rules. It's difficult to convey facial expressions or tone of voice over the forums, so a post that appears offensive may be well intentioned. If you cannot assume the original poster acted in good faith, report the post in question, and do not reply at all."

Besides, a thread designed for newbies would have big colourful fisher-price sized buttons, and smiley animations and sounds when they click on the right thing.

Heh, I read past this before...

Still... it only takes on SC to lock a thread.
Still... your personality doesn't jive with mine, so I'll use my SC-ness to threaten you with being booted.
Still...

I once new this newb once, he uploaded his image at 500X650!!! Man, I busted his chops so bad for that one, hell never live it down.

Ah, but it's the delightful unsullied innocence and optimism that the newbie brings to the table. Not that newbies actually know where the table is or to what the table metaphor really refers, but even so...

I have a prototype newbie status reset button. $10 deposits will be accepted now in advance of the first production run this winter...

I have a feeling scalvert's problem is mainly with the photo.

If so, a new category similar to "Nudes" would fix the entire problem by hiding this category of photo. The category could be titled something like "Offensive".

Also, anybody deemed to be offensive to the majority of the DPC population could be put up on the chopping block and voted off through a poll. That would be hilarious, and I would accept a majority rule. :-D

Photoshop the photo to add another finger on your hand. Then technically it's not the middle finger and not offensive. Then everyone is happy and the newbs won't get scared.
