Hi,
I'm in the process of looking for a CF card for my camera. I'm currently stuck with the 32mb Sandisk CF that came with the camera, however that's really pitifull, and I'll need some more memory for when I go on holidays.
Now, I'm wondering if the higher read/write transfer speeds on some CF cards will make any difference at all on my camera. I should state that I have an IXUS 400 (AKA Powershot s400). I'm currently looking at the 512mb Ridata 52x and the 512mb Sandisk Ultra II 66x, although I'm leaning towards the Ridata because I'm pretty sure that the Sandisk won't be used to it's capcity. I should probably also mention, that in addition to my current camera sometime in the future I'm probably going to get a DSLR (namely a Nikon).
So, what should I go for? what are your experiences? What are your suggestions? Any feedback is appreciated. |

Take a look here.
If you are ging DSLR in the near future, buy a faster card. The link above can give you a good idea of where the best bang for the buck is.
On your current cam, you will prolly not see much difference, but of course you can still benefit from the much faster transfer to the pooter if you use a USB 2.0 card reader (highly recommended).
My personal preference is for the Sandisk Ultra II, they are fast and cost-competitive.
