Is there an easy way to combat it? I seen a shot I wanted, rushed outside and the lens kept fogging up. I was able to get 2 shots off before the moment passed but I had to keep wiping the lens with my shirt. One of the shots came out really foggy and the other actually made a nice effect in the PP'ing (IMO). I actually entered it into a chalenge. I like it but will probably get hammered for it.
Anyway back to the question at hand. Are there any tricks to combat this? Besides the obviou.......don't go rapidly from a cold enviroment to a warm one?

Keep your camera in the camera bag and put the bag in the environment you want to shoot in. Wait about 15-20 minutes then you should be able to start shooting without any fogging issue. The amount of time you have to wait will depend on the temp difference and the amount of humidity involved. |

I don't know if this will work, so here is my disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage to your gear, no matter what happens.
Having disclaimed myself, why not try some of that anti-fog lens cleaner that is used for (optometry) glasses.
Let me restate my disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage to your gear, no matter what happens. :-)

If you use filters it will exacerbate this. You will have a portion of warm humid air trapped between two pieces of glass that will cool rapidly with the temperature and bring about the saturation point of the air (fog). Quickly taking the filter off and reapplying it in the colder environment will eliminate this particular issue of trapped air. |
