That kid had better get ready for some razzing when he/she gets back to school, hehe.

I don't think they're even going to test for it here, but we are supposed to report to the school if our kids are absent with flu-like symptoms, so they can send stats to the government.

We've already hit over 200 confirmed cases in Halton, so they aren't going to bother confirming with tests anymore.

Might be time to corner the inventory on those rubber strap-on pig noses (check out a Washington Redskins home game for reference) ... or make up some surgical masks with a picture of a pig nose imprinted on them ... ;-)

lol yeah really. apparently half our football team has one strain of the flu or another, so we have only 26 players in our big game tonight. the only thing that i can tell thats different then past flus is it hit really fricken fast. i dont think anyone was sick last week, and over the weekend a third of the school got sick, and now its like 80% of people have it.

They should probably cancel/reschedule the game, so you don't pass it on to the other school ... I'm a little surprised the other coach is willing to play, unless they already have it just as bad as you folks. I got some sort of upper respiratory virus this week, but it came on Monday night and was gone by Thursday, so I doubt it's any sort of flu ...

So, for the record, I've received the H1N1 and had zero side effects, other than not having to be paranoid about people who manifest flu symptoms. happy day.

One of my friends got the swine flu vac, and she says that now she wants to eat everything she sees that looks like food. : P

What's funny is that here in Australia we've been through the whole "It's winter here, everyone's going to get swine flu and die" thing, but now summers coming and everyone is forgetting about it.

We still have the option of the vaccine but I'm not going to bother as a few people in my work got it already and they came back a week or so later just fine. I do think there's a fair amount of scare mongering going on from the media so they have something to report, so far it's been mild compared to the normal seasonal flu, though just a whole bunch more infectious!

Good luck with winter in the northern hemisphere, hope it all goes well for you!

Yeah, I felt pretty much the same, then talked online with someone who was very upset because her friends had just removed life support from their 10-year-old daughter. This was a perfectly healthy, active child who had flu symptoms for two days, went to hospital, spent one day there, then two days on life support...

For the same reasons I wear my seatbelt and have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen I think I may get the shot. Odds are I'd be fine without but...*shrug*

I think we are getting hammered, and I personally can't stand the media and their fear mongering. We just don't need it. Just present the facts, that is all the public needs. The flu is a serious problem and there are plenty of pediatric and young adult deaths looming this flu season. High risk groups definitely should be vaccinated.

Hoax.

Now I thought his preacher video was cute. WWW translated to Hebrew, then count the letters to get to 666. LOL LMAO

But Scally baby, don't be so sure about the chip. It's already been tested by the military. Just because it's not ready for prime time yet doesn't mean it won't be in the future. I'm not talking about some anti-christ BS. I'm talking about a number you really don't want under your skin. Until we develop DNA identification to the point that we can verify your identity in less than a second or two, the chips are the way to go. I'm sure you're ready to line up for yours..... right?

Damn. He's evil!

Cut the man some slack. He was tasked with making Americans allergic to Canadians. It's a damn difficult job. They are just so lovable. Who wouldn't want to own one.......

Your cite please. I've not seen an official statement from the US Government stating solders will be implanted.

Oh crap, Now I've been seen posting on both sides of this issue. Damn conspiracy boys will never believe me again. Crap!

Getting my shot today. My son too.

Why, because we're socially responsible people who care what happens to us and others around us. We wouldn't put our fellow citizens, friends, coworkers and family at risk because some nut case thinks he's being poisoned by the government.

Got mine last night. It's been really difficult to find. My daughter got hers when she was pregnant, at the OB. But they were restricted to pregnant woman only. Neither my family doctor or cardiologist got it in. I needed a doctors note to go to the "county" flu shot center and had to stand in line with a bunch of little kids. LOL! Our biggest risk factor, my 10 year old son, gets his through school on Thursday. I normally get a regular flu shot every year because I have the "underlying" conditions they always talk about, so this was no big deal. I personally know someone who died from this just last week, so I was feeling a little panic about not being able to find it.
