I just added a photo I made yesterday. I'm pretty pleased with it but would love some other opinions. I'm curious if it's just my weirdness or if the scene gives anyone else the feeling it gave me. I took several shots of this scene. Sadly, most of them wound up with too much noise, a problem I've been experiencing with my camera lately.

Interesting, looks purple though.

In my opinion, it has a bit too much of a red tone to have an industrial feel. Maybe back off the red to give it more of a cool blue - or make it more of a brown/sepia. The composition is really interesting, nice lines and patterns. |

This is an interesting shot but there is something about it that doesn̢۪t quite sit right with me. I wish I had more of a definite suggestion but I am thinking that the problem might be that my eyes keep wandering around the image without really locking onto any particular subject. Maybe if you made one of the pipes very dominant in your composition and then showed the rest off in the background it would work better? I like the use of B&W for this one. I am guessing it made some of the background elements less distracting and also gave it more of a surreal/unusual look.

Thanks, I was wondering about that myself. I didn't want it to be too industrial because I wanted to capture the feeling of these being some kind of weird temple structures so I went for the warmer tone.
I converted to b&w to simplify the scene because the trees and dirt were pretty uninteresting in terms of color. Also, I like b&w. :-D There were some school buses in the background, also, which didn't work for the mood I was going for.
I guess I'm the only one seeing it. It may just be one of those, 'you had to be there' moments. Or I'm just a freak. :-D
Here's the original, just resized.

I'm still having a problem with that 'color space' thing. It does look purple. Crap. |
