So, my Speedlite 430 EX II fell to the floor with my Cactus V4 connected to it. When I hit the test button on the transmitter the reciver blinks but does not fire the flash. The flash works seperated from Camera/Cactus and connected to the camera but not wirelessly with the Cactus.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Snorri

Well I just found out my V4 wouldn't fire my old 70's flash because the center post wouldn't make contact. Had to sand the plastic section between the center post and the rails to lower the flash in the hotshoe enough to make contact. Maybe when the flash fell it bent the receiver hotshoe rails out of place enough that your not getting contact?

Bump!

No one who has the same problem/the solution. I really need my cactus to work for the weekend.

I'd have to agree with Drew.

- The cactus is being triggered by the transmitter.
- The flash works on its own.

So, its likely going be a connection issue between the flash and the Cactus. It might not be the center post but its not making proper contact for some reason.

Yes, I don't understand why this is happening. Do you think the Cactus/flash is broken? I wish I had extra flash/reciver that I could try it on.

Maybe something came loose inside? Or maybe it just got out of shape enough that the contact isn't being made. hard to tell. You could try a small layer of salder(heck if I know how to spell the liquid metal stuff) but that might void the warranty. Your call.

Now my friend at work was looking at this and he didnðt find anything. I don't know how to say his job-title but he has the experience in this. Think I will need to buy a new one :(
