When uploaded to your portfolio the exif is stripped. To have the SC verify your method of transfer, upload it with a ticket (help/contact). |

The EXIF is only stripped if you use Save For Web. It looks like this file came from a Samsung D980 cell phone. I'm not sure if that "camera" is legal for challenges, but the file itself appears to be modified (not a valid original) |

the file is really an original, only copy and paste from the SD on the cell phoene to the HD without any editing. it seems that that last modified data and creation data are exchanged. |

Unlikely. The file is 800 x 600px, and the Samsung D980 doesn't capture at that resolution. |

just out of curiosity, what would make that "camera" not legal for challenges? i thought i remembered a cell phone pic winning a challenge not too long ago |

"Your submission must be: taken with a digital camera that records EXIF data." Not all cell phones record EXIF data. There is some minimal EXIF on this one, but it looks "odd" so I'm not sure. |

My Motorola KRZR is illegal... :-( Doesn't capture proper EXIF.

Geez... I swear I looked for that button three times and didn't see it. The EXIF still looks odd and very minimal to me, though, so I'm still not sure if it would be legal. We've validated other cell phone images, but with much more complete EXIF data. |
