I know this site is about fun, learning, and friendship ... but I can't help but want to compete. Anyway, the following is how I've stackked up against some of the big guns of this site (disclaimer: no disrespect is intended, i consider all of these people better than me regardless of the numbers):

me vs Kiwiness = 3-0 Kiwiness
me vs Jacko = 4-1 Jacko
me vs Setzler = 4-0 me (woohoo!)
me vs jjbeguin = 6-4 JJ
me vs dsidwell = 5-3 David

My new goal is to get a "1" against Gary. I don't suppose you're getting killed in the voting for centered are you?

:)

ps ... forgive me if my stats show an error, I just did this quickly, but I think they're right.

So you want everyone to know that you have beaten these guys a few times? They have made a name for themselves because of their work, not them going around and telling other people how many times that they got a better score than other people...I like competition too, but I will never start posting who I have bettered in the past challenge, just because I got lucky and found a perfect subject during the week of submission. Yes, you do have some great photos, but let them speak for themselves. All the photographers that you have metioned are very skilled people and have the know-how that I am so desperatly trying to learn myself.

hopper - I think it's cool that you beat some of those heavy-hitters sometimes. Congrats!

What I think is even cooler, is when one of those big guns takes the time to give me a comment that appreciates my shot. dsidwell is the king of this sight for helpful constructive comments.

I'm trying to learn from them too ... and obviously my post has bothered you ... I'm sorry for that. I chose members of this site that were obviously better than me so it wouldn't look like I was attempting to brag. It would be more accurate to say I'm paying them my respect.

I think I got alittle short with you...guess that I respect them too and don't want people to try and force themselves into that group of talent without their work speaking for itself...not saying that is what you were doing...I am sorry if I have come off as an A$$. Like I said you do have some exceptional work.

And by the way, hopper, thanks for your comment on my "Centered" shot. Your is the only comment so far!

:) sure thing ... by the way, it was your grape shot and John Setzler's marble shot that inspired me to go buy one of those little wooden men. I haven't used it yet, but his turns coming.

I think this is a good way to measure one's progress ... and you also find out that the gods here sometimes falter :-). It's also a good way to find out that you compare favorably against the best.

Congratulations!
