Happy New year to everyone, have been having a rest to get life back on track, had a good Christmas Day with 25 family and friends for dinner, Boxing day was a bit different with the heart needing to be fibrillated,(must have been all the excitement) the son in law stopped me hitting the ground but the little internal device worked, so I may come back and take some photos again and join in the family circle again :-)

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we wish you all the best. Please return when you can, until then please take good care of yourself and stay on this side of the dirt :)

MAX!

Wow! I want one of those sodas! Enjoy your journey into this great thing that they call adulthood. At least I think that's what they call it. LOL! Have some cake, chocolate, vanilla, beef, whatever. Happy Birthday to you!

If I recall from the old days (and it has indeed been QUITE a while, Fry's is a hit or miss kinda thing. If you know exactly what you want and can get it without dealing with the sales staff, you should be OK unless you have to take it back because it doesn't work....

Yes the return prossess is long, and a pain in the (well you know).
Whats worse they can and will return a defective product back to the floor and sell as new.
01/10/2010 10:18:04 AM · #1889
*scratching head* now why on earth would an electronics store allow itself to be named Fry's? Kinda bit of a hint there, eh?

Ok snaffly, expecting you any day now, seeing that you're a big girl you don't need someone to keep an eye on you on the plane up here. Be warned though about Canadian beer, though, it's a great deal stronger (and better) than most American brews.

As we like to say, American beer is like making love in a canoe...(fellow Canucks, don't give it away)....*drumroll*...

For the record, as much as I would love to come back to Germany for another five years or so, I am NEVER ever moving again. This is just too much work and too much stress! STILL need to get a ton of stuff done and the day is nearly over. Arghhh!!!!

Aawww! Take a quick break whenever you get frustrated. A bite of chocolate, a cup of hot tea, a quick nap are all good stress busters (for me anyway). Just remember, if you forget something, it might be pretty hard to go back later for it. LOL!

What is your actual departure date? Good luck on the big move!

Movers come tomorrow so I have to have all the "do not pack" stuff out of the way. This is a different sort of move because I will not be getting my household goods at the other end until I figure out where I'm going to live - it's all going into storage. So I've had to figure what I need to live off of for at least six months or so. I will not have enough clothes, but man, clothes are heavy! I've already shipped two boxes of stuff to my Mom's house, in addition to a bike. I have two more boxes to ship. Then I'll have my suitcase, a backpack, a purse, and two cats in cat carriers. It'll be entertaining. Not.

Movers here tomorrow and Tuesday, a different set on Wednesday for a small shipment going to Mom's, car gets turned in for cleaning on Thursday and I have to find a ride to my house to clean the house. Friday the car goes on the truck (takes two months to get to the west coast of the US after that). Saturday is my one free day, then I leave well before the crack of dawn next Sunday for a 12 hours-in-the-air flight to Los Angeles. Add in ground time, and the drive from LA to Santa Barbara, and it's about a 24 hour day.

No naps today - been running like a chicken with its head cut off! Back is killing me! I boxed up most of the electronics. Computer is next. Darn near forgot got get the laptop up to the "do not pack" room. That would be very not good...

Wow, you sure have your work cut out for you, Deb. Wish I was there to help. Hang in there! ((HUGS)) Susan, Druli and Lily

Crazy! And to think, I hated moving across town lol. You certainly do have your hands full Deb. I had no idea a car would take that long to get to CA. Good luck and I hope you and your belongings make it safely to your destination.

Deb I realize it will take a moment or two to get the ducks in a row, but sooner or later some will call for a GTG, And I might have to take a drive down I15 south..

In case no one else has noticed, our very own vawendy finished in 12th place in The Unofficial Points Race-2009.

Personally, I think that's such a garish display of unsuckworthiness that Fearless Leader should come up with some kind of dastardly punishment.

Just sayin'.....

Deb, I had no idea that you were moving back to the US. That means you'll be closer to us and the likely hood that we will get to meet has increased 1000000000 fold, AWESOME.

I do believe that you meant to say that your "running around like a chicken with a bad hair cut" because you never said that you hit any walls :)

You shouldn't let your back get the jump on you, after all you were in the military. Don't forget to move the laptop to the "do not pack" room and could you do us all a favor please? While the movers are there could you please stay in the "do not pack" room it would really SUCK if you ended up on a slow boat from Germany :)

Please keep in touch as much as you can and know that we're thinking of you.

All the best to you and yours.

MAX!
