And the DPC speed voters will read "Pendants" and wonder what any of the aforementioned discussion had to do with hanging neckwear.... |

Hey, fellow Suckers... got a question or two. I'm considering wait-listing the new Canon 7D. I still owe myself a graduation from 26 years of service present, and the bike I want can't be purchased here, nor can it be "mail ordered", so I'm considering a camera. I have it in the basket at B&H along with the required spare battery. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to throw in the 70-300 IS lens. The longest I have right now is my 24-105. Do I need longer? Sometimes I find myself wanting to shoot the occasional duck, for no reason whatsoever because the world really doesn't need any more pictures of ducks... But then I wonder how much I'd really use it. I had the 70-200 before, but non-IS and I had a heckuva time getting useful shots from it because I can't hold things perfectly still.
Thoughts? |

I saw a post earlier today, and the recent new buyer was very happy, and the image @ 300mm was impressive.. |

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the shot he posted, too. That's what got me thinking about the lens. I'll think on it some more... :-) Thanks! |

I'm also thinking I will get the 7D, adding the 10-22 for the wide side. Have you considered the 70-200 F4L @ $600 it's a great lens for a crop censer and the cheapest L I'm very happy with mine.. |

That's the one I did have that I sold to another Team Sucker who hasn't been around in ages... wonder what happened to him? I really have to have IS on my lenses for the most part. At least it gives me the confidence that I might get a shot or two in focus. :-)
And the 10-22 is a MUST have for everyone with crop sensor Canons. MUST have. |

Ahhhh our Melethia is responsible for a number of us having the 10-22 now. I have to get on the ball and post some of the Alaska shots, SOON. I have not gotten thru all of them tho, we only took 3,100+. Soon, I promise.

Pulled the trigger. The 7D is on pre-order. :-) And with it still being a crop sensor, I can still use my beloved 10-22.
And yes, I do need to see those pictures from Alaska, along with all the stories that go with them! |

A few Alaska Shots. I hope this link works, I'm still posting explanations for the pics. Hanging head in shame for taking so very long. |

Thanks Deb. Actually I do think I did a poor job on the shots, just that the scenery is so beautiful it compensated.

Kelli, thanks for the nice note.
Ya know I blew it by not putting any of these shots in the August Free Study. I wish you the very best of luck, Alan. Thanks for checking out the shots.
