Question for those of you who do this for a living (or at least distribute your work) - when you edit, do you make more than one copy to give to a client to allow for different uses? I did a couple of weddings - for the first one, I gave them a disk with two folders, each had identical pictures in it but one had photographs sized to print if they wished, the other had "web-sized", mostly 1600 on the long side, 1000 on the height (if I recall). But then I got to thinking, what if they want to build a slide show? What size is good for that? The reason I ask is I've seen people try to use the "print sized" versions on the web and as we all know, those don't necessarily look good. And we do know people will be sending and posting the pictures on the web. I'm just trying to anticipate the needs of the folks I've shot for, and am assuming they don't have a lot of photo processing skills... Suggestions? Thank you kindly! |

i do the same, print size tiffs, and then web sized jpegs...
maybe just offer to make them a slide show as well, i think 3 different versions of the same pictures would seem a little confusing and excessive to a client... just my opinion though.. |

Yeah, I figure I'll just do the screen-sized web version rather than two different sized web versions and they can go from there. I never though of having the prints as tiffs - do you find your clients know what to do with 'em? Or do you do all the printing for them? |

ya i give them the CD and they take them to get printed or use them on their computer to upload...
i explain to them what the tiff files are vs jpegs, they seem to understand haha |
