Anyone planning to stay up or get up early to watch the meteor shower tonight???? :)
I've done it in the past and it was well worth the show! Question is...can we get some good shots??

I just came in from checking it out. Saw some pretty good ones already. My wife and I are gonna head back out around peak and watch them. Reminds me of when I was little and dad would take us out to see them.
As far as shots I might try if they're really good. I don't know how well I'll be able to do it without a cable or remote for bulb. 30 seconds might not cut it.
ETA: I took my wife out a few weeks back and she saw her first meteor ever. Sometimes I forget that not everyone had a nerdy upbringing like me. I pitty them.

They said it should be visible the next two nights, so you might still get to see them.

Cool shot, Ralph :)
I lay on the back deck for 15 minutes or so, which only gives a little slice of sky, but saw 8 in that time. I planned to lie out front around 2am but by then we had just enough cloud cover to muck it up. The clouds have just cleared away now :( |

above was out at our cottage / by all accounts one of the hottest days- clearest nights of the summer
that was 1 of 550 frames of 10 sec -- from ~9:30-11pm (once the moon rose it blew out the sky )
lots of satellites & plane trails though ..
and giant mosquitoes .... spent half the time waving my arms about ,...
