They didn't offer you one of those "Loyalty program" deals that got me the 50D at a sweet price? There must be certain circumstances that trigger that offer or the lack of it.

Glad you finally got your T1i back. I bet your next camera will be weather-sealed! |

I read the article about the dead canon t1i and I guess that it helped me not feel alone. I too have a dead t1i. I suppose that it's my own fault for taking it on a multi hour hike today in a very hot and humid South Asian country. I sweat, and this was a record for me. Unfortunately, my new camera was a casualty. Sadly, I have no backup for the spectacular scenery here, foolish me. I dread what the repair shop will say; it's a new camera, too. |

Sorry to hear about your loss tryingtolovecanon. Along with the experience that dtremain had with his T1i, I will be very careful about exposure to my T2i. Forewarned is forearmed. Thanks for the heads up. Good luck with your repair! |

Seems we have ourselves a troll.
To add fuel ... Consumer Reports gave Nikon the WORST rating of all camera manufacturers for reliability.
Not to knock Nikon, I believe they are great cameras. But I gotta say those guys who work at the Nikon Repair Center sure have great job security.
I wont mention the small problem with the D5000. | |
last time i suggested the same.

any make camera can be a casulty to water, especially with the dials which have mushroom stalks on them that drip of water can run down them and zap the camera real quick. happened to me with both my film and digital cameras .

Touch wood, but I have owned nothing but Canon from day one and not one of my cameras has ever had to go in for repairs. :O)

Over time condensation can change the color of these stickers. It is possible that you were shooting on a humid day. That would cause the "water damage" even though there really was no water. I had the same prob with an old cell phone..... I hope that your prob gets resolved soon though.. |
They also sell a crap load of cameras, so there will be more reports. you need to look at reports per unit sold. |

Omg! I have the exact same problem with my camera! Did everything that the manual told me to do and still nothing. Sent it to the Canon service center for repairs. Haven't gotten any word on it yet. It's very frustrating because I don't have the kind of money to be throwing away on these things. :( This is very bad news for me. Looks like I might not be covered under warranty either. Only difference between my experience and yours is that my camera lasted only 3 months and it was cold instead of heat. I am very disappointed in Canon right now. You should be able to use your camera outside without it crapping out. |
