I'm really tempted by the Canon D10 - waterproof & ruggedized, it seems like it would be the perfect camera to carry outdoors and not worry about. I'd really like the ability to take some underwater shots in the lakes and streams around here, and price-wise it makes more sense to me to buy a $300 camera, instead of a $200 housing for my G10.
Now, I know the D10 has limitations - JPEG only, supposedly without a superfine compression mode; lack of manual controls; 35mm on the wide end. These are some of the reasons I'm holding off. I also figure that, as the first of its line, future models are bound to be better (obviously). But when do you think the next model will arrive? The D10 came out in Feb 09 - if it's on the 18-month cycle, then it wouldn't be until next summer.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?
